Heuermann Lecture- Nebraska: An Ecosystem in Harmony

patty forsberg November 25, 2019

In order to meet the global demand for food, fuel, feed and fiber agricultural production must increase by more than 70% by 2050. Reaching this goal will require a more efficient use of marginal lands, extensive growth in agriculture and new methods to deal with extreme weather, soil degradation and biological invasions. The discussion of Nebraska’s healthy agricultural ecosystems will be followed by dinner and a showing of the NET Television documentary film “Follow the Water.” The film tells the story about connections between the environment and people, and a river that shaped the land. Mike, along with Craig Allen and Andrea Basche will be speaking at this event.
